Using documentary, poetic realism and speculative mythology, her work explores the notion of home, Afro-Arab hybridity and its futurisms. Dina’s practice revolves around the mapping out of third spaces where culture has no fixity. Through that space she employs the desire to belong and to migrate, and the costs involved in both choices.
Dina graduated from both the Australian Film, Television & Radio School (AFTRS) in Documentary Screen and Goldsmiths University, London (MFA Artists’ Film & Moving Image). Currently, she is in the post-production phase of her long-term transmedia project, Blue Lotus.
